Who is the president of Greece?
The system of government in Greece is Republic.
There is a President of the Republic, (the highest in hierarchy) who is the Head of the State, but is not interfering with everyday governmental issues or activities.
He is elected every 4 years by the Greek Parliament, and currently, President of the Greek Republic is Mr. Karolos Papoulias, since February the 8th, 2005.
Then there is the Prime Minister, who is the leader of the political Party that wins the national elections every 4 years and actually governs the country.
Prime Minister of Greece since 2004 is Mr. Konstantinos Karamanlis, having won in the elections twice, in April 2004, and in September, 2007.
